Space Invaders is one of the oldest shoot ’em up games available on an arcade machine. It was designed in 1978 and was available in several different sizes. This machine is in working order.
It uses a Signetics 2650 CPU. This is different from the Intel 8080 CPU the game is usually associated with. The Italian company Zaccaria produced these 2650 CPU boards, but typically under the game name “The Invaders”, and typically with English text. This machine is in Japanese, with a Taito manufacturers plate.
